October half term ideas with the kids!

We know it seems only five minutes ago that the school summer holidays finished, but with the leaves filling the streets and the nights drawing in, it must mean October half term is almost here!

If you are stuck for ideas of what to do during half term then have no fear, we have pulled together some great events and activities that are taking place in Worthing. So wrap up warm and have a great week out!

Jack on the Green – 21st & 22nd October

Enjoy this trail of lights and lanterns around Beach House Park between 6pm and 8.30pm, you will experience the park in a whole new light! Free entry into the trail, with donations welcomed at the gate.

There will also be free lantern making workshops on both days between 2pm and 4pm at Palm Court Pavilion, all ages welcome. Everything made in the workshop will then form part of the trail, so come along to spot your own creation!

Worthing Museum Workshops – 24th to 27th October

From making spooky paper-mache Halloween masks and accessories to dining after dark in the museum, there is something for kids of all ages at Worthing Museum this October half-term!

Ice Rink – opens 20th October

Popular Worthing Ice Rink returns to Steyne Gardens this October half term. Being fully covered means fun whatever the weather and it’s suitable for all ages over four whatever your ability. So dig your gloves out, wrap up warm and get skating!

The Hartlepool Monkey – Worthing Theatres

This adventure story for sea dogs and landlubbers is told through sea shanties and mischievous puppetry, children and adults alike will enjoy it! Go to Worthing Theatres’ website to book your tickets.

Brooklands Park Halloween Fun for Kids – 23rd to 31st October

This October half term there is Halloween fun for kids of all ages during the day and after dark at Brooklands Park! In the day time the little ones can enjoy the Halloween Boo Hoo train and Spooky Fun castle without any fear, there’s nothing to scare them here. But by night it’s a different story, adults and older kids come if you dare, you never know what will pop out on the Ghost Train or Maze of Horror!

Halloween Party Nights – 27th & 28th October

A creepy crypt, ghoulish games and lots of spooky music and dancing… just some of the activities waiting for you this Halloween at Field Place Manor House. Tickets are just £6 and must be booked in advance on 01903 446401.

Worthing Spooky Tours

Join this 2km Spooky Tour of Worthing led by Mortimore Spirimawgus for a frightfully good evening of eerie stories, places and people. No need to book, just turn up on the night!

Taking place: Saturday 28th October, Tuesday 31st October and Saturday 4th November all at 7pm. Meet outside the Pavilion Theatre, tickets £7 for adults or £5 for children.

South Downs Leisure Half Term Activity Programme – 23rd to 27th October

If you have to work during October half term then South Downs Leisure ‘Drop off and go’ activity sessions are ideal for any children aged 5 to 16 years old. Kids get to have a go at football, swimming, tennis, trampolining and lots more. These fully supervised sessions run from 8.30am to 6pm, call 01903 905050 for more information or to book.
