Tips for a grown-up festive day in Worthing!

This week we’ve put together some tips for a grown-up fun festive day out around Worthing which will really get you into the Christmas spirit…

So here’s the festive day out plan:

8.30am Start the day with a hearty breakfast  – you’ll be able to pick up lots of good local Sussex produce at our Wednesday or new Saturday (Portland Road) Farmers Markets – check out local suppliers for Eggs (The Macs Farm or Simons Free Range Eggs), bacon & sausages (Brooks Pork)

9.30am Get up and out! Chances are the sun will be shining so wrap up warm and stride out along the prom – nothing beats watching those crashing waves, the smell of that fresh sea air and the sun on your face, a great free dose of vitamin D.

10.30am Get creative and book onto one of Worthing Museum’s Christmas Workshops

  • 9th Dec Seasonal Macramé Decorations
  • 16th Dec Seasonal Wreath Making

1pm After all that crafting you might be peckish – check out our Food & Drink pages for some tasty lunch ideas from stone baked pizzas, freshly made burgers to Turkish meze – take your pick…

2pm Check out the festive Pop up Shop showcasing the work of local artists, makers & designers at Colonnade House

3pm Warwick Street’s Christmas lights bring a touch of magic – you’ll find some great shops along here too – Harmony at Home for kids clothes, Griffin for men’s wear, Retro Daisy for a Christmas party dress with a 1950’s touch.

4.30pm Snuggle up with a pot of tea and a warm mince pie at one of our top tea spots – try The Dome Vintage Tea Room or add in spectacular sea views from the Southern Pavilion Café.

Or pop in for a well-earned pint of local ale or a warming Whisky Mac in front of a real fire at one of our cosy micro pubs or bars. The Corner House or the downstairs bar at the Marine View guest house both have toastie wood burners.

Top off the evening with a Christmas concert – you can’t beat a good sing song.

Here are a few suggestions:

Thursday 14th Dec The Rowland Singers with guest pianist Helen Emery

Saturday 16th Dec Worthing Choral Society Christmas Concert

Sunday 17th Dec Worthing Philharmonic Orchestra Christmas
